“Perfect campground. Great surroundings and staff.”
"The campground is very clean and the staff are very helpful. I highly recommend it, and we'll be back."
"Overall, we were satisfied, but there was one downside: the Wi-Fi only covered certain areas of the campground, not where we were. That’s really too bad—this is the first campground where the Wi-Fi doesn’t cover the entire site, even though it’s listed as a service and we pay for it. I hope this review is posted on your website so that future campers are aware of this; I’ll check to see if it’s there."
"A very nice campground near a beautiful village"
“Great site and location for a short break on our way to the South of France in our campervan. We’ve been here several times and had excellent meals at the nearby George Hotel, which we highly recommend. Some of the facilities are showing their age—for example, the shower and toilet block—but they will no doubt be updated soon. The pool and campsites are fine. We’ll be back.

“The campground was great. Perfect for families with kids. The only thing missing in the mobile home was enough cookware for four people (pots and pans). There was also very limited cutlery (only four forks or spoons). Despite that, we had a pleasant stay, and I don’t regret choosing this campground.”
“The campground is in a great location, close to downtown and a supermarket. It’s very quiet and peaceful. The only downside was the cleanliness inside the cabin. The dishes weren’t clean at all (we had to buy disposable ones because the dishes were really too dirty), even though there’s a dishwasher in the cabin—I don’t understand why.”
"A cozy campground that offers peace and quiet and respects your privacy. Very wooded. There are many sites to visit in the surrounding area, and the town of Loches is full of interesting sights. The bungalows are very comfortable and equipped with everything you need for a pleasant stay. A minor downside is having to clean the kitchenware upon arrival, as well as the reception upon arrival, which leaves a bad impression, and the snack bar, which could use a good cleaning and a facelift as it looks a bit dated.”
“We really enjoyed our stay at the campground and in your area. This was our first time choosing a site with private restroom facilities. The site was very spacious and the facilities were perfectly adequate. Please note that there are two different types of sites available, with restrooms of varying ages. We chose the older ones, but they suited us perfectly. We made this choice because the campground told us when we booked that the older sites were much larger, and indeed, that was the case.”
"A pleasant campground with very clean restrooms and showers; the pool is perfect—the only thing missing is an activities team to organize activities for the kids and theme nights."
“There wasn’t much in the way of entertainment, which I think is a bit of a shame.
The snack bar was nice, but it was only open for lunch and in the afternoon. We wanted to have a coffee at the bar, but that wasn’t possible. The check-out time is a bit early, considering that we had to take down our equipment.
Very quiet campground, especially at night and in the morning. The premium site was great and very convenient. The pool was well-maintained.
Overall, I was satisfied with the campground, even though it didn’t quite have the friendly atmosphere I was expecting.
"A beautiful, peaceful, quiet campground, but it could use a convenience store that opens a little earlier in the morning."
“We came with our son. The campground is in a great location, with shops less than 1 km away and the Royal City nearby. The mobile homes are well-equipped. They’re spaced far enough apart that we really had our privacy. There are two pools, one indoor and one outdoor.
Special shout-out to the snack bar team: we ate there every night (pizza, fries, hamburger, flank steak, mussels, salad…)—the meat was excellent, and so were the pizzas… A truly great team that made us feel welcome.
A few themed evenings are offered, but they don’t go on too late, which is nice for people traveling with young children.
Thank you for this stay.”
“A really nice campground. Great location right near the historic center. Very spacious and secluded campsites. Nice pool. Not exactly thrilling for teens, but it’s pretty good. There’s a small river right next to the campground where you can do some fishing. The food at the bar is also tasty. The restrooms aren’t very clean, but they’re adequate for France. If you like lots of entertainment, this isn’t the right campground for you. After 11 p.m., it’s very quiet. But it’s ideal for peace and quiet! »
“Excellent, clean site. I’d like to have Wi-Fi in the premium mobile homes.”
"Very clean mobile home. Friendly staff."
“A great campground close to the city, with a fantastic water park. The premium sites are a bit cramped, but the restrooms are clean. The food is good and varied. The only thing missing is daytime and evening entertainment.”
“Great campground—quiet and close to all amenities.
We had mussels and fries at the snack bar—delicious—and some really good pizzas.
I highly recommend it.
The sites with the kitchen block are a real plus.
”
"A very good campground, but lacking in activities."
“Perfect location for exploring the region, and the town of Loches is very beautiful.
We found the prices at the campground’s snack bar and bread shop to be very expensive.
The “comfort” mobile home for 8 people is missing a dishwasher.
Washing dishes by hand every day for such a large group isn’t practical.
The activities at the campground are very limited, but that wasn’t a problem for us.
We had an issue with the water heater and the coffee maker, and the problems were resolved in less than 24 hours, demonstrating the staff’s quick response—thank you!
“We had a great stay at the Citadelle campground.
We were there with our 6-month-old son; the baby kit was a real plus for our stay.
Very quiet and family-friendly—I highly recommend it.”
"Hello
Overall, we enjoyed the campground, except that two out of four showers weren't working. Otherwise, the campground was pleasant and the pools were great. Thank you and best wishes.
Mr. Froehly"
“We had some bad luck: the outdoor light wasn’t working, one of the lights in the kids’ room wasn’t working either, a wardrobe hinge came off, and the doorstop that keeps the door open was broken. Aside from the hinge, they couldn’t fix the rest right away.
However, the welcome is warm and friendly, the staff are attentive, the pools are well-maintained, the activities are fun (even if we’d always like more), and the snack bar is run by lovely people.
The campground is central enough to explore the surrounding area.
A campground we’d happily return to (we’ll just ask for a different mobile home 😅) »
“It was a great stay, except when it came time to leave—we felt like we were being pushed out by the new arrivals…”
“We spent two weeks at the Citadelle campground in the premium bungalows. The accommodations were perfect and very well-equipped. The campground offers several accommodation options in a quiet and very pleasant setting.
Loches is ideally located for visiting the many
castles of the Loire Valley.
We were delighted with our stay.”
“A nice campground with good facilities. My child had plenty to do. I’d suggest that the staff be more visible. We sometimes saw people swimming who weren’t staying at the campground.”
"The restrooms are outdated and not all showers work, but they are otherwise clean given their age. A surprisingly good restaurant that serves delicious mussels on Fridays."
“Overall, I was very satisfied with the campground. It’s quiet and in a great location…
It’s odd, however, that no staff member was present at the cottage upon arrival to conduct a walk-through, nor upon departure, even though a security deposit is required. It’s also a shame that they offer bike rentals without providing helmets.”
“A quiet, clean, and very pleasant campground
Located at the foot of the royal town of Loches, it’s perfect for strolling through the town on foot.
One suggestion: you should consider adding some umbrellas by the pool.
Otherwise, our stay in a superb 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom mobile home went very well, and we’d definitely consider coming back.”
“We were made to feel very welcome. We had booked a premium mobile home with a comfortable living area and a large shower
The only downside was that we were next to a couple with very temperamental young children.”
