Pentecost for the whole family on the Ile de Ré: a gentle weekend at La Plage campsite

A restful, peaceful break between comfort and nature

The Pentecost long weekend often comes at the perfect time: the days are getting longer, the temperatures are getting milder, and the urge to get out and about is growing. It's also the perfect time to catch up with loved ones who may live far from home, take a breather and share some simple family moments. What if this year, you decided to get together on the Ile de Ré ?

Located in Saint-Clément des Baleines, at the foot of the famous Phare des Baleines lighthouse, our La Plage campsite welcomes you to an authentic, natural setting. Just a five-minute walk from La Conche beach, considered one of the most beautiful on the island, you'll enjoy direct, pedestrian access to the ocean, with no cars or constraints. Here, everything invites you to unwind, enjoy the gentle pace of life and relax, untouched by the summer crowds.

The campsite offers different types of accommodation, from traditional pitches to top-of-the-range mobile homes , some even equipped with a private Jacuzzi for a well-deserved moment of relaxation. Comfort is the order of the day, without ever cutting yourself off from the natural surroundings. Grandparents will appreciate the calm and convenience, while grandchildren will quickly find their bearings on the playgrounds or multisport field.

At this time of year, the atmosphere is particularly peaceful. The campsite lives to the gentle rhythm of May and spring, with its bright days and pleasant climate. Theaquatic area is open and accessible to all: the heated outdoor pool allows even the fussiest guests to enjoy the water without shivering, while toddlers can splash around safely in the paddling pool.

The cycle paths make it easy to reach other villages such as Les Portes-en-Ré or Ars-en-Ré, each with its own unique atmosphere. Get on your bike, pedal gently through the salt marsh landscape, and make a stop when you feel like it: an ice cream on a terrace, a farmers' market, a photo break... These simple moments, with no rigid program, are often the most precious to share.

For nature lovers, the salt marshes are a must. Rich in flora and fauna, they can be explored on foot or by bike, in contemplative stroll mode. Children love birdwatching and learning how salt is formed, while grown-ups enjoy a moment of peace and quiet amidst the island's typical landscapes.

Further afield, a few museums can enrich your stay with a touch of culture without weighing down your program. The Ile de Ré remains accessible and pleasant to live in, without crowds or hustle and bustle, especially at this time of year. May is still a mild season, ideal for strolling around, exploring without hurrying, and making the most of every moment.

Finally, La Conche beach is the perfect place to end the day. A kite-flying session, a sandcastle, or simply feet in the water watching the sun slowly descend over the horizon... all natural activities that don't need much to create great memories.

This Pentecost weekend becomes more than just a simple getaway on the Île-de-Ré: it's a real breath of fresh air, a time for sharing, discovering together and taking your time. A perfect balance between relaxation, walks in the open air and tribal adventures at the Cormoran. And maybe that's what a real vacation is all about: one that you don't necessarily expect, but that's good for everyone, grandchildren and grandparents alike.
